How long does it take to become fat and keto adapted?

It typically takes a few weeks to become “fat adapted” and keto adapted. The main process of becoming fat adapted is known as “keto-adaptation”. During this time, your body will start to shift from burning carbohydrates for energy to burning fatty acids for fuel instead. It's important to note that the transition can take some time to complete and that you may experience a period of decreased performance during this transition.

To help speed up the process, it's important to ensure you are eating enough healthy fats, protein, and low-carb vegetables every day and limiting your net carb intake to 20-50 grams per day until your body has fully adjusted.

Additionally, engaging in regular physical activity can also help you reach your goal of becoming fat adapted more quickly. With consistency and patience, you can become fully keto-adapted within a few weeks and start experiencing the benefits that come from being in a state of nutritional ketosis.
